Natalie Parr

With so many in her family affected by glaucoma, Natalie Parr is determined to help future generations through her gift to GRF.

Natalie Parr has always loved going to the theater. Living in New York, she often would find herself taking in a play, seeing the wonderful performances Broadway has to offer. Then, suddenly she noticed the performances slipping away. Natalie knew there was something wrong, and after an eye exam, she was diagnosed with glaucoma.

“I’m no stranger to glaucoma. My mother had glaucoma, and my brothers and sister all have glaucoma. One of my brothers has lost his vision completely.” With this sight-stealing disease so rampant in her family, she knew there was a high possibility glaucoma would affect her. Now, as her vision gets progressively worse, she is thinking of the next generation of people in her family who may be affected.

“The research Glaucoma Research Foundation is doing is very important to me. I want to make sure the future generations have hope.” Recently Natalie decided it was time to update her estate plan through the free website freewill.com. The online platform gives people an easy, affordable option to create their will and are given the option to give to causes that mean the most to them.

Natalie instantly thought of Glaucoma Research Foundation in her long-range philanthropic plans. “I can’t take this all with me. It makes sense to give to an organization that is so focused on research.”

If you are inspired to help create a future free from glaucoma, there are many ways you can make a gift without giving up assets you may need today.
